We’re seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist for an exciting opportunity in the Section of Pediatric Nephrology at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will be an integral part of a comprehensive pediatric kidney care program within Ochsner’s Health’s regional health system, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in the Gulf South.
Clinical Care: Provide inpatient and outpatient kidney care for children with acute, chronic and end-stage renal disease. Partner with medical and surgical colleagues to serve children with complex conditions in multidisciplinary programs.
Program Development: Opportunity for qualified candidates to develop a pediatric kidney transplant program to complement existing pediatric liver, heart, and bone marrow transplant programs.
Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children’s™) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the region’s leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region’s only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center.
We recently announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Children’s Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027.
We currently care for patients in an expanding 54-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams.
