Pella Regional Health Center is seeking a full-scope OB/GYN to join its growing women's health program. This is a meaningful opportunity to enter an established, high-volume obstetrics program and help expand it. The program currently delivers more than 620 babies annually and has the infrastructure and patient demand to reach 1,000 deliveries per year as OB/GYN services develop. The incoming physician will work alongside a collaborative team of family practice OB providers and two experienced gynecologic colleagues in a faith-based, independent health system with a strong reputation and deep community roots.

Pella sits in central Iowa and functions as a regional medical hub well beyond its city population. The hospital draws patients from a broad geographic area extending south toward Ottumwa and east toward Burlington, with Des Moines serving as the nearest major referral center. The region supports approximately 13,000 workers commuting into Pella daily, and the local service area population operates closer to 20,000 residents. Several surrounding communities lack comparable obstetric services, which contributes directly to the strong delivery volume at Pella Regional.

The incoming OB/GYN will practice full obstetrics and gynecology. The program currently handles more than 620 deliveries annually across a team of 10 family practice OB providers and two gynecologic colleagues. The OB/GYN will perform C-sections for their own patients. General surgeons currently perform the majority of C-sections in the program, with one FPOB who holds surgical fellowship training also performing them. A new general surgeon joins the program in approximately six months.
The hospital delivers at 36 weeks or later. Patients requiring earlier delivery or neonatal intensive care transfer to Des Moines or Iowa City. Maternal-fetal medicine consultation is available through Mercy in Des Moines.
Pella Regional has delivered more than 600 babies annually for years using an FPOB model. An outside assessment confirmed the program has the patient demand and infrastructure to reach 1,000 annual deliveries with dedicated OB/GYN coverage. The two current GYN colleagues are both within a few years of retirement, creating succession need in addition to growth opportunity. The hospital is actively building new dedicated clinic space for the OB/GYN program, reinforcing its long-term commitment to expanding women's health services.
