Phoenix Children's Hospital opened in 1983 as the first pediatric specialty hospital in Arizona. Located in Phoenix, it has grown into one of the largest and most respected children's hospitals in the United States. Phoenix Children's provides comprehensive family-centered medical care to children in over 75 pediatric specialties. The 433-bed hospital has over 1,000 pediatric specialists on staff and provides care ranging from primary to critical care.

Phoenix Children’s has gone through tremendous growth over its 40-year history. After starting within Good Samaritan Hospital, it became a freestanding hospital in 2002. A major expansion completed in 2010 made Phoenix Children’s one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country.
