Your clinical practice will be embedded in a robust oncology program designed for seamless, high-quality patient care. You will have access to one of the region’s largest oncology navigator teams, certified oncology nurses, and comprehensive infusion services, allowing you to focus on complex surgical cases while knowing your patients are supported throughout their cancer journey.
As a surgical oncologist, you will perform advanced cancer surgeries across multiple disease sites, from breast and gastrointestinal cancers to complex resections requiring specialized expertise. You will also have the option to incorporate general surgical cases, including scopes and advanced breast techniques, giving you flexibility to diversify your clinical work. Unlike many programs where physicians are siloed, here you will shape your practice to match your professional passions and the community’s needs.
You will participate in regular tumor boards—liver weekly, breast and head & neck bi-weekly—where multidisciplinary collaboration drives treatment decisions. This collegial environment ensures that each case benefits from shared expertise, strengthening outcomes and allowing you to remain engaged in cutting-edge oncology care.
General surgery call coverage is available but not required. If you choose to take call, it can serve as a pathway to accelerate your practice growth. If you prefer to focus solely on surgical oncology, the program has the flexibility to support that decision. This balance offers you professional autonomy while maintaining a high quality of life.
