Navigating the Clinical Component

Tennova Healthcare Clarksville and its Freestanding ED in Sango are equipped with modern medical technology and employ the Cerner EMR system to ensure efficient patient data management and care coordination. The facilities offer a wide range of emergency services under medium to high acuity settings. While neither facility is designated as a trauma center, they handle a significant volume of emergency cases. Major trauma cases are referred to nearby specialized facilities such as HCA Tri-Star Skyline Medical Center in Madison, TN, or Vanderbilt Medical Center for level one trauma care.

The patient demographic is diverse, influenced significantly by the proximity to Fort Campbell, a major military base. This contributes to a unique patient population that includes military personnel and their families, which can affect the transient nature of the community and its healthcare demands. The facilities do not operate fast tracks but are equipped with essential emergency services, including bedside ultrasound and off-site radiology reads, ensuring comprehensive emergency care is available.

Tennova Clarksville and Sango handle a variety of emergencies ranging from acute medical conditions, injuries, to pediatric emergencies. The facilities do not provide specialized trauma or pediatric emergency departments, but ensure that critical cases are swiftly transferred to appropriate tertiary care centers. The emergency departments are supported by a robust infrastructure that includes a high number of hospital beds—261 at Tennova Clarksville and 8 at Sango FSED.
