Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

The emergency medicine positions at Tennova Healthcare Clarksville and the Freestanding ED in Sango are offered as 1099 independent contractor roles, providing flexibility along with a comprehensive and competitive compensation package. This package is designed to not only attract but also retain top-tier physicians through competitive hourly rates, financial incentives, and professional benefits.

Hourly Rates and Quality Incentive:

  • Clarksville Main: Day shifts: $260 per hour - Night shifts: $285 per hour
  • Sango FSED: Day shifts: $235 per hour - Night shifts: $250 per hour
  • Quality Incentive: An additional $15 per hour is available for all shifts at both facilities, contingent upon meeting predefined quality metrics. This incentive is designed to reward physicians for maintaining high standards of care and patient satisfaction. 

Projected Annual Income

Assuming a physician works 120 hours per month with a mix of day and night shifts predominantly at Clarksville Main, the calculation for a rough annual income estimate would be as follows:

  • Day Shifts (70% of shifts): 84 hours x $260 = $21,840 per month
  • Night Shifts (30% of shifts): 36 hours x $285 = $10,260 per month
  • Quality Incentive: 120 hours x $15 = $1,800 per month
    Total monthly compensation = $21,840 (Day) + $10,260 (Night) + $1,800 (Quality) = $33,900 

Annual Income = $33,900 x 12 = $406,800 

Additional Financial and Professional Benefits:

  • Claims-Made Malpractice Insurance with Tail Coverage: Ensures comprehensive coverage during employment and continued protection after term end.
  • Continuing Medical Education (CME): Free access to an approved library of CME resources, enabling physicians to meet their educational requirements without additional costs.
  • Sign-on Bonus: Ranges from $15,000 to $20,000, attractive for newly joining physicians.
  • Annual Retention Bonus: Ranges from $15,000 to $25,000, rewarding ongoing commitment and performance.
  • Relocation Assistance: Begins at $7,500, with potential increases based on the physician’s moving needs, facilitating a smooth transition to the area. 

This structure is aimed at supporting the financial stability and professional growth of physicians, emphasizing the benefits and flexibility of the 1099 employment model.
