Clinical Component

Clinical Component

This position is going to be a high acuity Emergency Medicine position. The providers see an average of 2.2 patients per hour and physicians have to be comfortable with every aspect they were trained for. According to the team, “You will see everything, from an ED perspective here”. At a minimum providers have to be comfortable with intubations, central lines, chest tubes, sepsis recognition & treatment.

The hospital has 37 main beds with a 9 bed Fast-Track and a separate 12 bed Urgent Care. The Urgent Care sees most of the level 4 & 5 patients with the Fast Track treating most of the vertical level 3s. The main ED sees all the level 1 & 2 patients, plus the higher acuity level 3 patients

All our providers have access to scribes, if desired, and the department has a full team of Nurses & APC to assist the providers in seeing patients.

Schedule

The requirement is going to be 120-hours per month. The schedule right now is set for 12-hour shifts, 7am – 7pm & 7pm – 7am. They are looking at adding a second mid-level shift starting probably in June so that could bring the physician hours down to eleven-hour shifts.

There will be a mix of day and night shifts, the majority will be day shifts. There is an opportunity to do 100% Nights if a provider is so inclined.
