Regional West Medical Center Cardiology is backed by their state-of-the-art catheterization lab, where diagnostic imaging equipment supports minimally invasive angioplasty procedures. An incoming invasive cardiologist would have the opportunity to do diagnostic caths. There is the option to do devices too, including but not limited to pacemakers, halter monitors etc. You can expect to see about 20 patients per day in clinic; Fridays are usually light.
Providers can expect to see a variety of standard cases and Regional West will refer out to UC Health locations in Colorado when needed. Patients needing stents, bypass surgery, thrombolysis or cardiogenic shock treatments are shipped to out UC Health’s Loveland Hospital where there is full CT surgery backup and cardiac programs.
Call is 1:3 nights and weekends. Call is limited and shared. Nightly call covers all duties: hospital/ED/clinic. However, the on-call doctor goes into the hospital less than one time per month for all specialties not just cardiology. Phone calls are rare, the call is very easy and light.
