Wyoming Cardiopulmonary Services (WCPS), in partnership with Wyoming Medical Center, is excited to announce an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Electrophysiologist to join our esteemed team. This role is critical in launching and leading our new Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Program, supported by a substantial $7 million investment in state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. Join a group of six experienced cardiologists (3 General and 3 Interventional) in a dynamic practice established in 1978, enhancing interventional and general cardiology services.
As the sole Electrophysiologist in the region, you will have the unique opportunity to shape and direct the EP services in Casper and the broader Wyoming area, addressing an unmet need that currently sends patients out-of-state for care.
Based at the Wyoming Medical Center, a 191-bed nonprofit hospital that is part of the renowned Banner Health network. This role offers an exciting opportunity to build a thriving EP practice in a community with significant demand for specialized cardiac care. The practice has a state-of- the-art nuclear medicine system (accredited) and echo/ultrasound system (accredited). This position allows for immediate patient volume uptake with the existing demand, and you will play a pivotal role in preventing the annual outmigration of approximately 110 ablation procedures and other EP-related treatments.
The hospital offers two state-of-the-art cath labs, and an active open-heart surgery program with two board certified cardio-thoracic surgeons. Additionally, there is a hybrid room that is currently being used 1 day, every other week for Structural Heart procedures and a dedicated space for a new EP lab. The incoming EP will have the Hybrid room available for procedures 3 days per week while the new EP lab construction is completed.
The incoming provider can expect to spend more time in clinic initially as they build their practice. As the leading Electrophysiologist, you will initiate and lead the EP services, addressing a critical gap in the regional healthcare landscape. The community and state have a pronounced need for an EP program, Dr. Michael Cutler comes up a couple days a month from Inner Mountain in Salt Lake City and does approximately 110 ablation annually (SVT: 30, VT:15, Afib: 50), 76 Pacemakers and 55 ICSs.
You will perform a variety of EP procedures including Afib, VT, SVT, EP studies as well as perform a wide array of procedures including pacemaker and high-voltage device implants, lead removal, and ablation procedures. This volume is exclusive to the Casper area. It does not account for patients who choose to travel to Cheyenne, WY, Denver, or other areas of Colorado You will also collaborate with two CT surgeons: Dr. Eric Munoz and Dr. Joseph Monfre. The EP market is completely untapped for a provider who wants to come in and build a successful practice.
Two of the current General Cardiologists are implanting pacemakers (not AICD/BiVi) and will want to implant some of their own to maintain privileges, and to be a backup for when the EP is out of the office or on vacation.
The incoming EP will also have the option, though not required, to contribute to general cardiology services to further integrate into our comprehensive cardiac care team. The program has a full support staff including a dedicated EP tech and a Cardiac Service Coordinator with extensive EP and Cath Lab experience

Competition
There is no local competition in Casper for EP. The closest EP is in Cheyenne, which is 2.5 hours away. The current EP cases in Casper are seen by Dr. Michael Cutler, from Inner Mountain in Salt Lake City. The EP market is completely untapped for a provider who wants to come in and build a successful practice.
