As a physician working at Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska, your clinical responsibilities may include: 

  • Providing comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, with an emphasis on the Native Alaskan population.
  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, including respiratory infections, diabetes, hypertension, and unique illnesses such as botulism, tuberculosis, frostbite, and more.
  • Performing routine medical procedures, such as suturing, casting, and minor surgical procedures.
  • Conducting well-child exams, annual physicals, and other routine health screenings.
  • Providing prenatal care until birth.
  • Prescribing medication and ordering laboratory and imaging tests as needed.
  • Consulting with specialists and referring patients for additional care as necessary.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with established clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare providers, including nurses, physician assistants, and behavioral health professionals, to provide coordinated and holistic care to patients.
