You will step into a practice defined by extraordinary need, uncommon autonomy, and the kind of efficiency most urologists spend years trying to build. Doctors Medical Center Modesto (DMC), the region’s primary Level II trauma center, serves a rapidly growing Central Valley population with a severe shortage of urologists. Years ago, six full-time urologists kept pace with the volume. Today, only one full-time physician, a part-time senior partner, and locums support the entire service line—creating immediate, sustained demand that fills your clinic and OR schedule from day one.
Your practice will center on DMC’s main campus, where you can walk directly from clinic to the hospital in under a minute. The role is hospital-employed through First Choice Physician Partners (FCPP), offering the structure and benefits of a large system without sacrificing the flexibility and influence of a private-practice environment. You will build a practice tailored to your strengths while contributing to a service line that the hospital considers mission critical. With a backlog of more than 6,000 referrals and wait times stretching four to six months, the community need is clear and urgent, allowing you to grow as quickly as you wish.
You’ll join a team that welcomes your perspective and values physician ownership of the clinical environment. Leadership encourages you to shape your workflows, request equipment, and pursue areas of clinical interest. If you bring robotic skills, you will become the dedicated robotic urologist for a trauma-designated center that strongly prefers to have consistent robotic coverage. Whether you prefer a balanced schedule or a high-production workflow, this position gives you the freedom to choose the pace and direction of your practice.
You will step into a role built for impact and growth, supported by a hospital system that understands both the urgency of the need and the importance of giving physicians the tools to thrive.
