Greenbrier Baptist Church, the state's oldest Baptist church established in 1781, and the Sam Black United Methodist Church, a historic 1902 church listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The most common religion in Greenbrier County, West Virginia, is Christianity, with Protestants and Catholics being the largest groups. A 2020 report from The Association of Religion Data Archives shows the Catholic Church has the highest number of adherents, followed by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Episcopal Church. However, other denominations, including Methodists, Baptists, and Mennonites, also have a presence in the county.
