In this role, your clinical practice will center on some of the most complex and rewarding aspects of perioperative and critical care medicine. Each day, you will manage critically ill adult patients recovering from high-risk cardiac surgeries—CABG, valve repairs and replacements, adult congenital cases, and even post–heart transplant care. You’ll be at the helm of life-saving technologies, from ECMO and ventricular assist devices (VADs) to advanced hemodynamic monitoring, guiding patients and their families through the most vulnerable moments of their journeys.
Your expertise will extend across two high-acuity settings: the 18-bed Cardiovascular ICU and the 12-bed Surgical ICU. Unlike many intensivist positions that rely heavily on consults, here you will lead care directly, making the key decisions that drive outcomes. Predictable schedules and built-in downtime ensure you can recharge, while supplemental OR opportunities allow you to maintain operative skills and earn additional income.
Technology supports your practice rather than weighing you down. With Epic as the EMR, Qgenda for scheduling, and newly invested $3.5M anesthesia equipment throughout the system, you’ll find efficiency and consistency in your daily workflow.
As part of your academic mission, you will also supervise anesthesiology residents, critical care fellows, and advanced practice providers. Case-based teaching, simulation, and bedside mentorship are woven into your week, giving you the opportunity to shape the next generation of leaders in perioperative and critical care medicine.
