The work week is Monday – Friday, with a focus on seeing patients but using around 45 minutes a day for administrative duties. The weekly clinical schedule will be 5 days in Reedley. All surgeries and deliveries will be done in the Reedley hospital, where you have a great set up with 2 ORs and a very experienced team.
This is a practice where you will be busy, but not overwhelmed as we have a great support staff, and everyone helps to make life easy for each other. The current providers have 3 dedicated MA’s each and the new provider will have 2 MA’s as they slowly ramp up. “This team is great; I really trust their opinions. Especially Maria, she is the best I have ever seen. She makes me not want to leave here, ever,” Dr. Dominguez.
We have 2 OBGYNs (+1 locums for call), 1 Nurse Practitioner, 4 Nurses and 3 PAs to provide care for all our patients. We are currently experiencing outpatient migration to Fresno (24 Miles), Clovis (30 Miles) & Visalia (28 Miles) as we do not have the staff to provide care to everyone in the area that needs it. There are currently talks for further expansion in the birthing center, in anticipation of continued growth of this department. The plan is to hire 2 additional OBGYNs, to make the team a total of four, which we absolutely have the volume for.
Once we have a new physician in place, we will communicate to our network of Primary Care providers in the area, as well as the general population that you are accepting new patients. We have 12 clinics and dozens of providers that will start referring patients to you right away. Your patient panel will grow very quickly. Within 6-12 months you should have a full panel of patients. You can expect, 50% OB, 50% GYN from the beginning. Adventist is also committed to hiring additional support staff in the hospital to continue the quality of care. We have enough patients for you to focus on either OB or GYN.
All physicians are given flexibility with their schedule to best accommodate their family life. You are not required to live in the city of Reedley, in fact most physicians live in the city of Fresno or Clovis, as it offers more amenities. If you can get to the hospital within 30 minutes, you can live anywhere in the area.
Adventist Health in the Central Valley serves as the sponsoring institution of two residency programs in Hanford and Tulare, where new physicians receive hands-on training in family medicine. Additionally, a pharmacy residency program is tailored to provide clinical experience to future pharmacy providers.
Hanford has long established Family Medicine & Internal Medicine Residency programs, with six residents for each year. Tulare has its inaugural Family Medicine Residency program that started in June 2020 with 6 residents. They just started their Internal Medicine Residency program in June 2022.
