When you step into the clinic each morning, you'll be greeted by a thoughtfully designed workspace where every element has been carefully planned to support efficient, high-quality patient care. The new cancer center represents AdventHealth's commitment to creating an optimal healing environment for patients and an ideal practice setting for physicians. Unlike facilities where oncologists must navigate fragmented services or lack essential resources, this purpose-built center integrates all necessary components for comprehensive cancer care under one roof.
Your days will be structured to balance productivity with meaningful patient interaction. The outpatient-focused practice allows you to develop lasting relationships with patients while maintaining control over your schedule. When inpatient care is needed, you'll have flexibility in managing hospital rounds—before clinic, during lunch, or after clinic hours—with APP support ensuring attentive patient care without overwhelming your daily workflow. This flexibility contrasts sharply with rigid schedules or divided priorities common in other settings.
Your practice is supported by robust multidisciplinary resources at AdventHealth Redmond, where you’ll collaborate with ENT, Gastroenterology, Thoracic and General Surgery, Pulmonology, Urology, Radiology, Pathology, Neurology, Cardiology, and Gynecology. For radiation oncology, patients currently access services in Calhoun, with plans to expand offerings in Rome pending Certificate of Need approval.
You’ll participate in a joint tumor board uniting Rome and Calhoun teams, encouraging knowledge sharing and comprehensive treatment planning. This collaborative approach promotes optimal outcomes for complex cases while maintaining a unified care philosophy across locations.
Your clinical work will be enhanced by exciting academic and research initiatives in development, including a biorepository program with BRAG ONC at Augusta University and a clinical trials partnership with AdventHealth Research Institute. These opportunities allow you to contribute to innovation while staying focused on patient-centered care—without the administrative burdens typical of academic settings.
In this role, you’ll manage a broad range of oncologic and hematologic conditions, enabling you to maintain and grow your clinical expertise. Unlike hyper-specialized academic roles or volume-driven private practice models, this position offers comprehensive cancer care with the time and resources to provide individualized treatment.
As you build your practice, you'll help shape protocols and pathways that define cancer care in northwest Georgia for years to come. This is your opportunity to make a lasting impact—not just on patients, but on the healthcare system itself.
