Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

Investment in Your Professional and Personal Well-Being

Augusta Health understands that attracting exceptional geriatric medicine talent requires a comprehensive package that truly values your expertise and supports your entire life trajectory. With a first-year guaranteed compensation of $256,585 plus performance incentives bringing total potential earnings to $269,428, you'll be rewarded at competitive market rates while enjoying the exceptional cost of living advantages of the Shenandoah Valley. This thoughtfully structured compensation model, based on 2024 blended benchmarks from MGMA, AMGA, and ECG, ensures you're fairly compensated at the 50th percentile market rate while providing clear pathways for additional earnings through quality-based incentives that align with your commitment to excellent patient care.

The innovative tiered wRVU model rewards both consistency and productivity without creating unsustainable pressure. At Tier 1 (up to 3,490 wRVUs), you'll earn $73.52 per wRVU with an additional 5% value-based withhold recovery and 5% incentive potential, ensuring base compensation of $243,742 with up to $25,686 in quality bonuses. For those exceeding the 50th percentile threshold, Tier 2 compensation increases to $81.26 per wRVU, recognizing your additional productivity while maintaining the same quality incentive structure. This balanced approach means you're rewarded for the relationship-based, comprehensive care that defines excellence in geriatric medicine rather than being pushed toward volume-driven practice patterns that lead to burnout.
