Join Experienced Colleagues Who've Chosen Excellence in Rural Practice

You'll become the third member of an accomplished CRNA team that exemplifies the best of rural anesthesia practice—highly skilled professionals who deliberately chose Barrett Hospital for the autonomy, lifestyle, and community connection it offers. Your future colleagues, Anita Peterson and Katy Maunu, bring decades of combined experience from Level 1 trauma centers and large hospital systems, proving that choosing rural practice enhances rather than limits a career in anesthesia.

Anita Peterson, CRNA, brings international perspective and trauma center expertise to the team. After earning her Master's in Nurse Anesthesia from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's highly competitive program (accepting only 10% of applicants), she honed her skills at Erlanger Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center with an associated Children's Hospital. Her extensive background in pediatric, trauma, and obstetrical anesthesia, combined with her experience as a clinical instructor, makes her an invaluable resource for complex cases. Since joining Barrett in 2021, she's embraced Montana's outdoor lifestyle while bringing world-class anesthesia care to Dillon.

Katy Maunu, CRNA, contributes 24 years of diverse anesthesia experience from both large hospital and outpatient surgical center settings in Minnesota before choosing Barrett for her practice. Her expertise in obstetric and emergency procedures perfectly complements the team's skill set.

  • 3-person CRNA group creating genuine collegiality without the politics of larger departments
  • Experienced CRNA Lead providing clinical support and case consultation while respecting your autonomous practice
  • International and trauma center expertise within your immediate colleague group, ensuring robust clinical backup
  • Surgical team including orthopedic, general surgery, OB/GYN, and urology specialists who value CRNA contributions
  • Dedicated ER physicians and PA hospitalists managing emergency and inpatient services, creating clear practice boundaries
  • Stable medical staff with physicians choosing long-term commitment to rural practice over urban turnover
  • Direct reporting to Carolyn Hansen (Chief Clinical Officer) clinically and Taylor Rose (CEO) administratively, ensuring your voice reaches decision-makers

The broader medical team reflects the hospital's commitment to recruiting and retaining exceptional providers. The five primary care physicians (three providing obstetric care) maintain busy practices that generate consistent surgical volume, while specialist surgeons have established thriving practices that rely on skilled anesthesia services. The collaborative culture means you'll quickly become a trusted colleague rather than just another provider, with your expertise valued across all service lines.

Working here means joining colleagues who've discovered that professional excellence and personal fulfillment aren't mutually exclusive—they're both abundant in Dillon. Your future partners have already proven that choosing Barrett Hospital elevates rather than compromises a CRNA career, creating the sustainable, satisfying practice that keeps skilled providers here for the long term.
