As a local, independent health care system serving Southwest Montana, Bozeman Health stands as the region's premier healthcare provider. Operating under the Bozeman Health umbrella, its various care sites offer comprehensive medical services to the community. Notably, Bozeman Health holds the distinction of being the largest private employer in the Gallatin Valley, boasting a workforce of over 2,000 dedicated employees who contribute to the health system's success and commitment to excellence.
From our beginnings as a single hospital, we now cover a service area that extends throughout southwestern Montana. Our health system now encompasses two hospitals, numerous specialty treatment centers, a network comprising physician and urgent care clinics, outpatient facilities, and retirement and assisted-living residences. These facilities are manned by a dedicated workforce comprising hundreds of professionals spanning physicians, nurses, medical assistants, technologists, and specialists, all committed to our core principles.
Recognized for its commitment to exceptional patient care and innovation, Bozeman Health has garnered numerous accolades and accreditations. The institution takes pride in its achievements, having received recognition for outstanding patient safety measures, excellence in clinical care, and accreditation from esteemed bodies such as The Joint Commission and the American Nurses Credentialing Center. For 25 years, Bozeman Health Foundation has generated financial support for vital services and facilities right here at home, contributing to Bozeman Health's mission to improve community health and quality of life. The foundation, formed in 1998 as a nonprofit corporation governed by an independent board of directors, is charged with administering all philanthropic gifts for Bozeman Health. The foundation realizes its mission through the development and stewardship of philanthropic resources in support of Bozeman Health's mission and strategic goals.
Through philanthropic partnerships and community support, $83 million has been raised since the foundation's inception, with permanent endowment funds to help underwrite current and future medical innovations and opportunities to ensure services will continue to advance health care for all of those living in and visiting this region.
Medicine has changed greatly since our hospital began operations in 1911, and Bozeman Health has been able to stay at the forefront and expand health care services because, for more than a century, our community has been generous with their charitable support. At the same time, the population has seen continuous growth, resulting in ever-increasing demands for health care services that cannot be met exclusively with our health system's resources. To meet these growing needs, Bozeman Health Foundation remains dedicated to its mission and works to remove barriers and increase access to health and wellness for our community.
The foundation raises private funds for two purposes: first, contributions are sought for capital projects, specialized equipment and expanded services that provide patients advanced treatments in their home community; and second we continue to build our program and endowment funds so that our resources will ensure a perpetual impact on causes that matter the health and well-being of our community.
