Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

Coal County General Hospital (CCGH) offers a highly competitive and comprehensive compensation package designed to attract and retain top-tier talent in their Family Medicine team. Below is a detailed overview of the benefits and financial incentives available to candidates:

Base Salary:

The position offers a base salary of up to $325,000. This salary is particularly competitive within the rural healthcare sector and is commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications. CCGH is committed to providing a rewarding financial package that reflects the skills and dedication of their practitioners.

Financial Incentives:

In addition to the base salary, CCGH provides several attractive financial incentives aimed at easing the transition and supporting long-term financial stability for new hires:

  • Sign-On Bonus: New hires are eligible for a $30,000 sign-on bonus. This bonus may be structured to be paid in two installments: half within the first month of employment and the remainder after six months. This flexibility helps to provide immediate financial support while also encouraging longer-term commitment.
  • Student Loan Repayment Program: One of the most significant financial benefits is eligibility for up to $200,000 in student loan repayment through the Oklahoma Physician Loan Repayment Program. This program provides $50,000 per year for up to four years, offering substantial financial relief for physicians with educational debt. Designed to incentivize practice in underserved areas, this program aligns perfectly with CCGH's mission to serve the rural community.

Health Insurance:

CCGH offers a comprehensive health benefits package that includes:

  • Medical Insurance: This coverage includes a wide range of healthcare services, ensuring that physicians and their families have access to necessary medical care.
  • Dental Insurance: Dental plans cover routine care and complex procedures, promoting overall health and wellness.
  • Vision Insurance: Vision plans help cover the costs of eye exams, glasses, and contact lenses, supporting the visual health of employees and their families.
  • Malpractice Insurance: The hospital provides full malpractice insurance coverage through MedPro, which is likely a claims-made policy. This insurance safeguards physicians against financial risks associated with their practice. In addition, tail coverage is provided upon departure, ensuring ongoing protection even after employment ends.

Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays:

Physicians at CCGH receive 30 days of paid time off annually, which can be used for vacation, personal time, or other needs. Additionally, the hospital observes six paid holidays each year, during which the clinics are closed. This generous PTO and holiday allowance supports a balanced work-life integration.

Retirement Plans:

Currently, CCGH does not offer a formal retirement plan. However, they are exploring options for deferred compensation packages to enhance long-term financial planning for employees. Despite the absence of a retirement plan, the compensation and benefits package is structured to provide substantial financial and personal support.

Additional Benefits:

CCGH supports the ongoing professional development of its staff. While specific allowances for Continuing Medical Education (CME), licenses, dues, and fees are not detailed, the hospital is committed to facilitating opportunities for educational activities and maintaining licensure and certifications.

Health and Wellness Benefits:

The hospital values the health and well-being of its employees, offering a range of health and wellness benefits. These include comprehensive insurance plans and a supportive work environment aimed at promoting overall wellness.
