Understanding the Role

Coal County General Hospital (CCGH) in Coalgate, Oklahoma, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Hospitalist to join their dedicated healthcare team. This position is open to both Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants who are willing to obtain an Oklahoma license.

The APP will work in a Critical Access Hospital setting, providing essential inpatient care and emergency department coverage. The role includes weekly 48-hour shifts starting Wednesday evening through Friday evening, with potential additional weekend shifts available if desired. This position is a replacement role and involves direct collaboration with Dr. Helton, the rounding physician, and a registered nurse who will handle patient triage.

The APP will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of the hospital's inpatient and emergency services. Key responsibilities include admitting patients, completing charts timely, and coordinating care between providers. The hospital utilizes the Thrive EMR system by TruBridge, ensuring efficient and integrated patient care management.

The compensation package is competitive, with annual earnings up to 75th percentile MGMA. Additionally, housing is provided during shifts at the "doctor's house," located conveniently across from the emergency room.
