Position Overview

Play a Vital Role in a Collaborative Hospitalist Team

A Key Role in a Transitioning Anesthesia Team

Join a hospital-employed anesthesia group undergoing an important transition as they restructure from a contracted private practice model to an in-house team. This role is ideal for an anesthesiologist looking for a stable, well-supported environment with a highly favorable schedule while playing a key role in shaping the department’s future.

Fulfilling a Growing Community Need

The need for anesthesiologists in the region is urgent. The previous anesthesia group (YPACK) served the hospital for nearly a decade but struggled with recruitment, leading to their departure. Historically, they maintained a team of four anesthesiologists and four CRNAs. However, recent staffing shortages resulted in the remaining anesthesiologists taking 1:2 call, leading to provider burnout. To address this, the hospital is implementing a new model with two anesthesiologists and four CRNAs to stabilize and strengthen anesthesia services for both surgical and obstetric patients.

Your Role & Practice Setting

As a hospital-employed anesthesiologist, you will work exclusively at Cody Regional Health, with no surgery center coverage. The new model allows for a balanced work schedule, minimal call burden, and a collegial work environment with an established surgical team.

  • Provide anesthesia care for surgical patients in a hospital-based setting
  • Oversee CRNAs in a semi-independent practice model (not fully supervised but directly collaborative)
  • Perform preoperative evaluations and medical clearances for surgical and obstetric patients
  • Respond to emergency situations in the ER and OB, providing critical anesthesia support
  • Participate in call coverage with CRNAs in a 1:4 rotation
  • Contribute to department growth & process improvement to optimize care and efficiency

A Unique Opportunity for Work-Life Balance & Professional Growth

This position offers an exceptional lifestyle balance, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to help build an efficient and patient-focused anesthesia service. The two weeks on, two weeks off schedule provides unparalleled flexibility, giving you half the year off while maintaining a highly competitive salary.

The hospital fosters a collegial work environment where anesthesiologists collaborate with thoughtful, efficient surgeons. With minimal unnecessary case scheduling and a supportive perioperative team, this is a rare opportunity to work in a setting that prioritizes provider well-being while delivering excellent patient care.
