As a Radiation Oncologist at Cody Regional Health, you will provide expert cancer care in a freestanding Cancer Center that fosters close collaboration with Medical Oncology, Surgery, and other referring specialties. The facility is designed to support comprehensive treatment planning, with a strong emphasis on multidisciplinary coordination through regular Tumor Board meetings and close physician partnerships.
You will primarily treat solid tumor cases, with a patient mix that includes breast, lung, prostate, GI, and head & neck cancers. The center currently operates a Monday through Friday schedule, with radiation treatments in the morning and clinic visits in the afternoon. The department sees an average of 12–15 patients per day, with expected growth through outreach and program development.
The facility is equipped with an Elekta LINAC (scheduled for replacement within 12 months) and utilizes Eclipse treatment planning software with remote dosimetry support. The program offers 3D and IMRT treatments, with opportunities to expand into SBRT or radiosurgery, depending on your interest and expertise.
Your practice will be supported by a highly experienced team, including a Radiation Oncology Nurse, two Radiation Therapists (expanding to three), and a dedicated Physicist. You will also collaborate closely with the Medical Oncologist and PA, who manage the chemotherapy and infusion services within the Cancer Center.
The presence of remote dosimetry ensures seamless treatment planning, while strong interdepartmental collaboration enhances both efficiency and patient outcomes.
The electronic medical record system (EMR) is Epic, ensuring integration with the hospital system and facilitating efficient patient management. Although there is no formal call requirement, collegial availability for provider consultations is encouraged.
Cody Regional Health is actively investing in technology upgrades and program expansion, providing an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the department. With the upcoming LINAC replacement, there is strong institutional support to grow the service line, enhance outreach efforts, and expand treatment capabilities.
If you are interested in developing new clinical programs, research initiatives, or advanced treatment modalities, the hospital offers solid backing for long-term excellence in cancer care.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Radiation Oncologist looking to practice comprehensive cancer care in a collaborative environment, with the ability to help shape program growth while enjoying a balanced lifestyle in an outdoor paradise.
