As a Radiation Oncologist at Cody Regional Health, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, compassionate cancer care in a freestanding Cancer Center just steps from the hospital. This opportunity allows you to practice cutting-edge radiation therapy, collaborate with a dedicated oncology team, and shape the program’s future as we invest in a new LINAC system and explore expanded service offerings.
You will be the sole Radiation Oncologist in a program that offers both autonomy and strong institutional support. With a 4.5-day workweek, your mornings will be dedicated to patient treatments, while afternoons focus on consultations, allowing for a well-balanced lifestyle.
The program currently treats 12–15 patients per day, with plans to expand beyond 20 patients as Cody Regional Health strengthens its community outreach and referral network.
The Cancer Center is equipped with an Elekta LINAC (scheduled for replacement within 12 months) and uses Eclipse planning software with remote dosimetry support. The department primarily provides 3D and IMRT treatments, with potential for expansion into SBRT or radiosurgery, depending on physician interest.
You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, including a Radiation Oncology Nurse, two Radiation Therapists (expanding to three), and a full-time Physicist, while collaborating with a Medical Oncologist and PA who are integral to the program. A Tumor Board meets regularly to support the multidisciplinary care model.
Cody Regional Health serves a two-hour radius, ensuring patients in rural Wyoming have access to comprehensive cancer treatment. A transportation program helps ensure accessibility. While there is no formal call requirement, collegial availability for occasional provider questions is expected.
This position is ideal for a board-certified (or board-eligible) Radiation Oncologist seeking the opportunity to build a thriving practice while enjoying Wyoming’s unmatched outdoor lifestyle. With a financially stable, independent hospital, a collaborative team, and a supportive community, this is a rare chance to shape the future of cancer care in one of the country’s most breathtaking regions.
