Position Overview

General Non-invasive Cardiology Overview

Due to a physician’s departure in mid-2020 and a few retirements in the next few years, CRH is seeking to add two non-invasive general cardiologists. They are looking to get their group back to a more reasonable work-life balance across the board and see what the future can look like moving forward. We will be searching for candidates with a team-based attitude who are more focused on patient care and practicing medicine than the monetary value of their job.

The Heart and Vascular team at Columbus Regional treats patients for heart surgery, Cardiac Intervention, catheterization, electrophysiology, vein treatment, cardiac rehab, and much more. This team is devoted to working as a group and values each one of the physicians’ opinions and allows everyone to have a voice. They have an impressive roster of professionals with a panel of Cardiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Electrophysiologists, and Cardiothoracic Surgeons who are prepared to treat any heart condition. They are also in the midst of updating the “Cardiac Center of Excellence” which is a separate building on the hospital campus that is dedicated strictly to the cardiology group. They are undergoing major renovation improvements and expect to have it finished in the next year or so.

Clinical Component

This will be a full-time schedule consisting of 5 days a week from 8am-5pm (Flex Schedule may be available). The average number of patients per day in the outpatient setting will be around 18-24 and the inpatient census of 12-15. They will consider bringing on someone part-time, however, they would like 20 hours to be the minimum. There is a light call rotation for call with the schedule being 1:7.

The team consists of 4 General/Non-Invasive Cardiologists, 3 Interventional, 2 Electrophysiologists (2 CTS and 2 VS as well). They have a fantastic support staff with 7 NPs on Cardiology service. There are two that are more hospital-based and the others are primarily in the office. They are not involved in procedures but assist with surgical assist, suturing after pacemakers, and provide part-time weekend coverage.

Interview Process

Once you have decided to interview, your CV and cover letter will be submitted to the internal recruiter at (CRH). They will share that information with the group and if there is a mutual interest, we will schedule an introduction/phone interview call with the group’s leadership team. Upon completion of this call, an onsite interview will be scheduled. Once mutual dates have been agreed upon, CRH will book your travel and create an onsite interview itinerary. I will then schedule a call with you to get you prepared for the interview and review the interview itinerary. Upon the completion of the interview, we will schedule another call to discuss the outcome of the interview and to talk about the next steps.
