Lawton Public Schools (LPS) serves as the primary education provider in the community, operating a comprehensive system that includes 24 elementary schools, four middle schools, and three high schools. The district educates approximately 14,000 students and maintains a student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1, allowing for personalized attention and instruction.

Lawton High School, established in 1908, offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum including 15 Advanced Placement courses and concurrent enrollment opportunities through Cameron University. Great Plains Technology Center provides career and technical education for both high school students and adults. Several schools within the district have received notable recognition for academic excellence. Woodland Hills Elementary School has been designated a Great Expectations Model School for its focus on character education and academic achievement. Central Middle School's STEM program has earned state recognition for its innovative approach to technology integration.

Special education services in Lawton Public Schools are comprehensive, with programs designed to meet the needs of students with various learning differences.
