In this dynamic role, your clinical work will span a diverse caseload and a robust patient population, allowing you to fully utilize and expand your expertise in both spine and cranial procedures. With a case mix of approximately 70% spine and 30% cranial, you’ll care for a wide spectrum of adult and pediatric neurosurgical conditions. Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is part of the current practice, and there's demand for providers with skills in endovascular or minimally invasive techniques. Complex spine and endovascular aneurysm cases are referred out, creating a focused yet diverse practice environment.
Your week typically includes two clinic days and one to two dedicated OR days, all with protected time. Each clinic day involves a steady volume of up to 20 patients, supported by an experienced care team and Epic EMR for streamlined documentation. You’ll perform 2–3 surgical cases per OR day using the latest technology, including a Medtronic O-arm and Stealth navigation system. Surgical cases range from common spine interventions to more advanced cranial work, depending on your expertise and interest.
Support is strong and multi-disciplinary. Three autonomous APPs work across inpatient, outpatient, and OR settings, helping round on patients, manage discharges, and support call coverage. The inpatient experience is enhanced by a neuro-hospitalist team, ICU-trained trauma nurses, and a 30-bed neuro step-down unit. Physical therapy, occupational therapy, and neuro-rehabilitation services are available on-site through a 60-bed rehabilitation hospital.
This clinical environment is designed to let you focus on complex, meaningful work while ensuring that you’re never practicing in isolation. You'll be part of a system that believes in giving its surgeons the tools, time, and support needed to deliver exceptional care.
