On average providers see 3-5 new patients per day and are allowed up to 40 minutes for new patient consultations. Most days will have 2-4 acute appointments per day (15-minute appointments) and some of these are walk-in but not all. Follow up appointments can be up to 30 minutes depending on the patient’s needs. We truly want to continue to focus on patient care, and addressing all the needs, not just the surface issues. Expect to see lots of Internal Medicine, Diabetes & Endocrinology cases as a lot of the population is unhealthy with multiple diagnoses. We do have a good number of GYN cases, but there is no need for an Obstetrics. Our facilities have the ability to do basic procedures, stitches & suturing, mole removal, injections, etc. We do not treat a lot of pain management in our clinics and encourage our providers to only use that as a last resort, for patients that truly need it. We do have Dragon Dictation, and utilize Greenway EHR, which is designed specifically for outpatient clinics.
Cow Creek gives their providers the ability to adjust their schedule to accommodate their preferences. For example, Dr. Basham schedules most his patients in the morning, so he is very busy, but his afternoons are much slower so he can catch up on notes, trainings, reading or just prepping for the next day.
