The urology division at Touro University Medical Group currently has three urologic surgeons, all of whom hold faculty appointments within the ACGME-accredited Urology residency program at St. Joseph's Medical Center. The group also works closely with a plastic surgeon and nephrologist. The incoming physician will join as a fourth urologist, adding subspecialty depth to a practice with established patient volume, growing residency infrastructure, and a clear leadership succession path.
Paul Lee, MD Program Director, Urology Residency | Urologic Surgeon
Dr. Lee serves as Program Director of the St. Joseph's Urology residency and provides care to both adult and pediatric patients. He has been in practice for more than 33 years and is one of the few urologists in the region with dedicated fellowship training in pediatric urology, completed at the Hospital for Sick Children in London. He completed his residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and his internship in general surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Lee is board certified by the American Board of Urology and holds memberships in the American Urological Association, the Western Section AUA, and the California Urology Association.
Michael Zhang, MD Associate Program Director, Urology Residency | Urologic Surgeon
Dr. Zhang serves as Associate Program Director of the residency and specializes in urologic oncology and minimally invasive robotic surgery. He completed a fellowship in Robotic Urologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the University of Southern California. He completed his residency at New York Medical College and his internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. His clinical focus includes prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers, along with kidney stones, BPH, overactive bladder, incontinence, and erectile dysfunction.
Uzay Yasar, MD Urologist
Dr. Yasar brings more than 30 years of experience treating conditions of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. He specializes in kidney stones, prostate issues, bladder conditions, and other urological concerns, and has broad experience managing both routine and complex cases. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine and practices across Stockton and Modesto. Dr. Yasar is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the region's diverse patient population.
