Clinical Component

Here is some insight into the day-to-day duties of our FPOB providers.

Main Body- FPOB’s expect to see 14-16 patients a day in clinic. Hours are from 8am-5:30pm and time can be spent in the hospital and in the clinic. The providers have autonomy to do what is best for their practice and are flexible based on the needs of their patients. With a 1:8 call schedule, they will be on call every 8th day and one weekend call every 8th weekend from Friday night to Monday morning. Depending on the day, providers can see up to 10 patients in the hospital or as little as 2 patients while the PA covers the Outpatient practice. During the day, there is a nurse triage service while in the evening it is rerouted to the on-call provider. FPOB’s use Nextgen for EMR.

Interview Process

  • Candidate will be submitted via email to Desiree via.   This will include an initial email for name clearance (to confirm that the candidate has not been submitted by another recruitment firm) and followed by an additional email that will include a cover letter, CV and disclosure form.
  • A Zoom interview will be scheduled with Desiree, Aaron Houston (CEO), and Dr. Basil Anderson (Medical Director) (Michelle can obtain dates/times that work for the candidate and coordinate with Amy to help schedule the call interview.)
  • If the call goes well, Louis will get candidate feedback and available dates for a site visit and give those options to Desiree.
  • Please Note:  Best recruitment practices are for an onsite visit to be scheduled on the calendar within a week or 7 business days of submission.  The actual visit may need to be scheduled farther out, but it should be confirmed by then.
  • Louis can help get time constraints and preferences for the visit and will send that information to Desiree.
  • Desiree will book the candidate’s travel for the visit (flight, rental car and hotel reservations) Any additional expenses can be reimbursed after the visit with a furnished receipt and approval.
  • Prior to the visit, Louis will review the itinerary with the candidate and communicate any notes from that conversation regarding the candidate’s search.
  • After the visit, Louis will follow up with the candidate within 24-48 hours of the visit to obtain feedback.
  • If all goes well on the interview, an offer letter and/or contract will be extended to the candidate.
  • Please Note:  Best recruitment practices are for an offer to be extended within a week or 7 business days of a successful onsite visit.
