Physician Recruitment Process and Compensation Overview

AdventHealth Medical Group offers a salaried compensation model for its OB/GYN Hospitalist team, structured around a 12-hour shift schedule with differential pay opportunities and a performance-based quality bonus. The model does not include a wRVU production component in the current structure.

Shift Differential Structure

The hospitalist team has two differential pay opportunities that can stack:

  • Night shift differential: 10% added to the per-shift rate for any night shift worked, regardless of campus
  • Orlando campus differential: Additional per-shift pay for shifts worked at the Orlando main campus, whether day or night
  • Overtime: Shifts beyond the standard 14 per month are compensated at an additional rate

Physicians who work primarily at Orlando or who take on night shifts can meaningfully increase their total take-home above the base salary.

Quality Bonus Metrics

The quality bonus is performance-based and evaluated on the following criteria (subject to change under the revised compensation model currently in development):

  • HCAP patient satisfaction scores
  • Teammanship and end-of-year evaluations reviewed by medical leadership
  • Timely triage management
  • OED disposition performance

Time Off

  • 26 combined PTO and holiday days per year (6 designated holidays included; holiday days are restored if the physician works the holiday)
  • 5 additional hospitalist-specific PTO days per year, eligible for rollover if unused

CME and Professional Development

  • CME time: 5 days per year
  • CME allowance: $4,500 (single-boarded physicians)
  • Dues and memberships: $1,500 annually

Malpractice

  • Institutional coverage through AdventHealth's internal risk pool
  • No tail coverage required
