Comprehensive Facility Profile

Kaweah Health is the only hospital in Visalia, a city of over 130,000 people, and with its 581 registered acute care beds, it is the largest in Tulare County. The county itself has a population exceeding 440,000 and experienced a 20% population increase between 2000 and 2010.

This full-service hospital sees nearly 30,000 admissions and more than 5,000 deliveries annually, with an average daily census exceeding 400 patients. Surgical volume surpasses 14,000 cases per year—including over 4,000 inpatient surgeries—and approximately 8,000 endoscopies take place each year in the hospital’s dedicated suite. Kaweah Health operates the only trauma center in Tulare and Kings counties.
