Your clinical practice will be deeply embedded within a hospital environment defined by high acuity, teaching intensity, and immediate case volume. This is not a role where you’ll need to spend years building up a practice. Instead, you will step directly into a high-volume setting centered around trauma, emergency general surgery, and elective procedures—with a consistent flow of patients arriving via one of the region’s busiest emergency departments.
You will work closely with residents across all five postgraduate years, guiding them through cases, teaching at the bedside, and instilling surgical decision-making in real-time. While you will maintain a personal clinical practice, your emphasis will be on education, supervision, and supporting a culture of academic excellence. The surgical residency is tightly integrated with Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology programs, creating a robust interdepartmental teaching ecosystem. You will also help coordinate clinical rotations and ensure alignment between surgical service delivery and educational milestones.
The hospital has a private clinic component for follow-up care, and you will have access to operating room time, clinic space, and support staff from day one. This allows you to continue practicing in your specialty while modeling exemplary care and professional behavior for trainees.
