We are looking for a talented ENT who will have the opportunity to build part of their practice in multiple subspecialties. The MedStar system has great subspecialty support. You will have the opportunity to shape the practice to your interests. You will draw from a patient population of 170,000+ across three counties. There is little to no competition as this is the only practice in the area.
You will see 18-25 patients per day, 10-20% will be office procedures. You will have the opportunity to subspecialize and have 3-days of OR time. The ENT clinic has two exam rooms, a consulting office, a high-level disinfection room (HLD), Front Office, MA and has a NEW Medtronic Sinus Tower. Your schedule will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Currently the schedule allows for 20-minute follow-up visits and 35-minutes for new patients. The schedule can be adjusted to accommodate higher acuity patients as needed.
You will inherit a busy practice. With a current wait time of 4-months for a clinic appointment, and a large referral base, you will be able to ramp-up your clinical practice quickly. You will see a general case load of kids, adults and Amish (there is a large Amish community in the county). Infections, sinus, tonsils, head/neck cancers are the predominate cases you will see. You can do botax and the volume is there to establish sleep (we have 2-sleep labs). There are four Audiologists in Leonardtown and Speech Therapy is here also. Vestibular is sent out to the tertiary care center 35 miles away.
You will enjoy a great quality of life in this hidden gem location recently named one of the fastest growing counties in Maryland.
You will be contractually responsible for 6 days of call per month. Uncovered days will be handled via Tele-Health consult.
After you have reviewed the information on the practice and community, and if you are interested in being considered for the opportunity, kindly forward a copy of your CV. We will send you our background disclosure form to fill out and send back to us and we will verify your board certification and all state licenses. If you have any past or currently pending malpractice cases, kindly provide us with documentation as to the outcome or status of the case. We will need to spend some time on the phone with you and your significant other to gain a clear understanding of your current situation. We will document that information in the form of a cover letter and forward that on to Donald Lewis, Director of Physician Services at MedStar St Mary’s.
We will arrange a date for you to interview on-site with your spouse. The visit will include tours of the facilities and community. You will meet with other physicians during the better part of the day to get a feel for their personalities and how you will fit into the system. MedStar will reimburse you for all your expenses after the interview, so be sure to save your receipts.
After your interview, we will receive feedback from everyone that met with you. We will follow-up with you regarding your interest and the next steps. If an offer is extended it will be in the form of a non- binding Letter of Intent (LOI). Once you sign the LOI, an executable contract will be sent to you electronically. The contract should arrive within two weeks.
All offers are contingent upon referencing and credentialing. Our client will want to conduct three-to-five professional references on your behalf. Please provide the references’ name, title, relationship to you and contact information. These should be physicians and staff members that know you well and can discuss your clinical skills, fund of knowledge, how you work with others etc. Please prepare your references, so they know to expect the contact and the best time to reach them. Should you need to keep your search confidential, we will respect your wishes. However, should an offer be extended after your interview, you should be prepared to submit your reference list.
Upon acceptance of your offer and execution of your contract, you will need to complete a state license, medical staff application and credentialing with MedStar Managed Care Credentialing. Applying for a state license in Maryland and Maryland CDS may take 90-120 days To expedite this process, it is important to fill out the application completely. Contact the person responsible for verifying your credentials from any previous location where you had privileges, licenses, or completed your education or training. Make sure to put all their contact information – direct-dial phone number, fax number, email address and best time to call. The medical staff office will assist you as needed with the applications. You may need to apply for provider numbers with various insurance companies. Please contact your consultant to discuss.
