With a current wait time of 3-months for a clinic appointment, and a large referral base, you will be able to ramp-up your clinical practice quickly. With no stroke call, and minimal call on your inpatient days, you will enjoy a great quality of life in this hidden gem location recently named one of the fastest growing counties in Maryland.
Call: You will be responsible for call during your inpatient days and 2 weekend days per month. Call is minimal and will be primarily phone consulting only. It is a very rare occasion that the on-call Neurologist will have to come into the hospital. Call volume during weeknights is 1-2 calls, with many nights having none. All calls are screened by a RN. Weekend call may be up to 5-6 calls per weekend, phone consults only. Some weekend days will be left uncovered or covered by locums. There is No Stroke call. With TPA being administered by the ED and Neurosurgery Telehealth consults, patients are stabilized until they can be rounded on Monday morning. Even on a busier Monday, you can still feel confident that you have ample time with your patients and time with your family at the end of the day.
During many of your weekday rounds, you will be able to complete your patient rounding, many times by 3pm that afternoon. You will still need to be available for any incoming consults, or high acuity cases coming in until 5pm.
