Meet Our Team

The cardiology team at National Jewish Health is a multidisciplinary group of ten physicians supported by advanced practice providers, registered nurses, and technicians. The division operates under a collaborative academic model with named leadership across imaging, prevention, heart failure, cardio-oncology, and electrophysiology. Physicians work jointly with cardiac surgery, critical care, and pulmonary teams across the National Jewish Health and Intermountain Saint Joseph Hospital campuses.

  • Three nurse practitioners supporting general cardiology
  • Two nurse practitioners supporting electrophysiology
  • One nurse practitioner supporting heart failure
  • One device technician supporting the EP program
  • Weekend physician assistants covering the inpatient consultative service at Intermountain Saint Joseph Hospital

Advanced practice providers listed in the Division of Cardiology directory include Sarah Mendon, PA-C; Megan Woolard, ANP-BC; Jenna Milliron, NP-C; Anne Waugaman, MSN, ACNP-BC; Camille Triebel, ANP-BC; and Vera Pillitteri, DNP, FNP-BC.

Nursing and Clinical Support

A team of registered nurses supports outpatient clinic visits, monitoring, infusion services, and care coordination. Medical assistants support clinic flow and patient intake.

Practice Culture and Collaboration

The team works as a multidisciplinary group across both campuses. The cardiac care unit at Intermountain Saint Joseph operates as a joint cardiology, cardiac surgery, ICU, pharmacy, and palliative care service with a daily multidisciplinary round at 9 AM. Cardiologists rotate inpatient rounding with the Intermountain cardiology team across the broader Front Range network.

Several physicians have multi-year tenure on campus. The Division Chief joined in 2018 to lead growth of the joint cardiology service line with Saint Joseph Hospital, and the team has continued to expand with new hires across imaging, women's heart health, and cardio-oncology in recent years.
