Position Overview

Understanding the Role

Brief Description of the Role:
The incoming physician at National Jewish Health Western Hematology-Oncology will be integral in continuing the high standard of care for an existing patient panel at the Golden clinic. This full-time role entails managing approximately 15-18 patient visits daily, divided between new consults and follow-up appointments. The physician will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care while also focusing on rebuilding referral relationships within the community.

Practice Setting:
The practice is part of a hospital/clinic system with three sites in the Denver metropolitan area: Downtown Denver, Golden, and Thornton. The Golden site, where the incoming physician will primarily be located, is a high-volume clinic offering access to specialty services like radiation oncology, imaging, and an ambulatory surgery center. This setting provides a dynamic environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Why are we recruiting?
This is a replacement position due to the recent retirement of a senior physician and a staffing shortage caused by another provider reducing hours. This role is crucial for maintaining patient access to care and the financial viability of our Golden clinic.

Reporting Structure/Leadership:
The incoming physician will report to Dr. Jeffrey Kern, Chief, Division of Oncology. The leaders foster a supportive and collaborative work environment, ensuring that physicians have the necessary resources and guidance to succeed.
