Base Salary: The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $250,000 to $270,000, with potential for higher compensation depending on sub-specialization and experience.
Bonus Structure: There is a productivity-based bonus system, with $25 per RVU earned beyond the annual target. For example, exceeding RVU targets by 800 RVUs could result in a $20,000 bonus. Paid at end of the academic calendar year.
The wRVU threshold/target is 3400 wRVUs for a 1.0 FTE.
Dr. Tavee earned approximately a $30,000 bonus for working a .7 FTE.
The threshold is low enough to begin earning productivity bonuses early. Positions offered at UC Health (areas largest competitor) have a 5,000 wRVU target before bonusing.

Retirement Planning Resources:
403(b) Retirement Plan. NJH contributes 6% of earnings up to the Social Security wage base, then 11% of earnings up to the IRS compensation limit.
457 Plan. Eligible employees who earn a minimum of the Social Security Wage Base are able to participate in this plan. In addition to participating fully in the 403(b) plan, the 457 plan allows eligible employees to defer additional contributions on a pre-tax basis.
