Van Nuys is the most populous neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley, founded in 1911. The city was named after Isaac Newton Van Nuys, a rancher and entrepreneur.
Van Nuys is a predominately liberal community. Located 45 minutes from LAX and 30 minutes from Santa Monica and Hollywood, it has a population of 111,558 and a very diverse community of people.
The city boasts many celebrities generated in Van Nuys, actors Natalie Wood, Robert Redford, Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. Even athletes like the NFL’s Bob Waterfield and the Dodger’s Don Drysdale to name a few.
