Leadership with Purpose: Medical Director, OBGYN at Salem Health

Stepping into this role means stepping into leadership with a purpose. As the incoming Medical Director of OBGYN at Salem Health, you will shape the clinical strategy and culture of a department that already enjoys a reputation for excellence. Taking the reins from the department's founder, Dr. Lisa Rice, now serving as Associate Chief Medical Officer, you inherit a solid foundation and are empowered to guide its next chapter. Your dual focus on high-level gynecologic care and collaborative leadership will place you at the heart of a system that values innovation, quality, and work-life balance.

Your work will be primarily based at Salem Hospital, a 494-bed Level II Trauma Center and one of the largest hospitals in Oregon. You will lead within a practice that serves a metro area of 400,000 residents, many of whom rely on Salem Health for full-spectrum women's care. With high-volume surgical activity and a growing patient base, the need for strong, strategic leadership in this department is both real and immediate.

  • Serve as Medical Director while maintaining a full clinical practice (70% GYN, 30% OB)
  • Step into a replacement role following Dr. Rice's transition to system-wide leadership
  • Provide care in a hospital-based, full-scope practice supported by midwives and OB hospitalists
  • Position includes 24 clinical hours and 8 administrative hours per week
  • Leadership responsibilities include physician mentorship, scheduling, and departmental direction
  • Full-time role with structured schedule: 2 clinic days, 1 OR day, 1 admin day, and 1 post-call day off
