Perham Health is an independent, community-owned healthcare system that has served west-central Minnesota since 1902. Originally founded as St. James Hospital by the Franciscan Sisters, the organization has grown steadily over more than a century while maintaining the patient- and family-centered values of its founding. In January 2012, Perham Health opened a modern $38 million facility covering 120,000 square feet, designed around patient care, energy efficiency, and future growth. The system is governed by the Perham Hospital District, a governmental entity with a 14-member Board of Trustees representing three cities, ten townships, and an at-large position.

Onsite and Visiting Specialty Services
Perham Health has maintained a formal affiliation with Sanford Health for 40 years. Physicians employed at Perham Health are hired through Sanford and work within a fully integrated Epic system shared across both organizations. The partnership provides access to Sanford Fargo's tertiary care network, including a Level I Trauma Center, comprehensive cardiac services, pediatric subspecialties, and the Roger Maris Cancer Center. Visiting specialists from Fargo travel to Perham on a regular schedule, allowing patients to receive specialty care without leaving their community.
