Clinical Component

Clinical Practice 

  • Average of 25 – 35 clinic patients per day
  • Clinic Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm – No Weekends
  • Average work week is 4 – 4.5 days per week
  • Each physician has a consistent nurse with the addition of a few float nurses
  • Office EMR is fully integrated with Hospital’s EMR – access to office records on L&D floor
  • Office is equipped with two 3D ultrasounds and 2 ultrasound techs
  • In-office: NST, SIS, Liletta's
  • Basic fertility workups including own HSGs and ovulation induction agents
  • Nurse Practitioner sees postpartum visits, new OB visits, and new mom OB education
  • Experienced and friendly staff 

Operating Room 

  • One day each week designated to OR block time
  • Current physicians have practice splits in the ranges of 60% OB and 40% GYN to 40% OB and 60 % GYN
  • OR procedures include Robotic hysterectomy, total laparoscopic hysterectomy, endometrial oblation, ESSURE, traditional laparoscopic work, Uro/Gyn procedures
  • da Vinci Xi Surgical System – Training available if needed – Eight OR rooms and one dedicated to the robot 

Labor & Delivery 

  • Approximately 189 deliveries per year per physician
  • 1:5 Weekend Call (Friday through Sunday) 
  • 1:5 Weekday Call (Monday through Thursday) – Post Call Day Afternoon Off
  • While on call, the physician covers labor & delivery only. No regularly scheduled clinic. Option to operate on call day, if desired
  • Computer/web-based home monitoring system that allows mobile access to monitor strips and enter orders away from the hospital
  • No VBACs
  • Cesarean rate: 29%
  • Prior to 32 weeks, mother is transferred to a tertiary center 1 hour away
  • Exclusive Med/Peds Hospitalist program
  • OR suite on labor and delivery floor.
