UCHealth-Cancer Care and Hematology Clinics are located 10-miles apart on the MHC and MHN campuses. The clinics are open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. UCHealth uses EPIC for EMR.
The position will be a 4.5-day work week, with 4 days of clinic and one half-day of admin time. The incoming provider will split their time between the MHC and MHN clinics which are located 10 miles apart. Providers can expect to see 15-18 patients per day, with 5-8 of these patients being new patients. New patient visits are 30-60 minutes and follow up visits are 15-30 minutes. Time for visits is at the discretion of the physician. You will have full control over your scheduling template. The current wait time is 8-10 days for a visit, but urgent visits can be accommodated same day. All nurses are OCN trained.
Providers will see a variety of the standard cases including Breast, Lung, & Colon cancers. Providers can expect an uptick percentage of breast cancer cases they see with the departure of Dr. Srivastava in March 2022. UC-Health MHC/MHN can keep most cases in house, including acute lymphoma, BMT and complex head & neck. If we do need to refer out, it will be sent to UCHealth-University of Colorado Anshutz in Denver.
The cancer care offered at UCHealth in Colorado Springs is comprehensive. Additional patient support staff includes emotional counseling and social work, massage therapy, patient navigators, physical rehabilitation, financial counseling, exercise programs, and genetic counseling.
