This will be a full-time, employed position with UCHealth in Colorado Springs. It will be a standard Hematology/Oncology position based at the Cancer Centers at UCHealth-Memorial Hospital Central (MHC) and Memorial Hospital North (MHN). Our clinics are located on the hospital campus and are open Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm. The hospitals are located 10-miles apart. You can expect the practice to be 70% Oncology & 30% Hematology, with the majority of the practice to be in the outpatient setting.
The incoming provider will be joining an experienced, well-established team of 5 Hematologist/Oncologists. They will have a full support staff, including an outstanding team of OCN trained nurses and 5 APPs.
The work week will be 4.5 days per week, and the plan is to have the incoming provider split time between the MHC and MHN clinics which are located 10 miles apart.
Call will be 1:6, Friday to Friday, at both Memorial Hospital Central and Memorial Hospital North. When on-call, the physician covers the week 24/7 call. Hospitalists take care of primary admissions, but this group admits chemotherapy patients. You can expect to manage 10-20 patients on call each day. You can choose to see patients in clinic during call week, but that it at your discretion.
The only other oncology group in the area is Rocky Mountain Cancer Center. They have locations throughout Colorado. However, there is such a great need for Oncologists and a very broad catchment area. Patients do not tend to “doctor shop” in this area. They come to UCHealth for the clinical expertise and outstanding patient care.
