Understanding the Role
Full-time faculty anesthesiologist at University of Toledo Medical Center, Northwest Ohio's only academic anesthesia program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical anesthesia care at Level II Trauma Center with cardiac capabilities
- Supervise residents in 2:1 ratio (allows genuine teaching relationships)
- Participate in in-house call rotation (currently 7-8 calls/month, decreasing with new hires)
- Teach integrated into daily clinical work, not separate classroom time

The department is rebuilding after recent attrition and preparing for anticipated retirements:
- Replace faculty who left due to various career changes
- Prepare for 2-3 upcoming retirements

Your arrival directly reduces colleague call burden and stabilizes the department.
