Position Overview

Understanding the Role

Your Role in Greene County Healthcare

You will join Kettering Health Medical Group Primary Care in Xenia, Ohio, as a Family Medicine physician serving one of the fastest-growing corridors in the Dayton metropolitan area. This outpatient-only position allows you to focus entirely on building longitudinal relationships with patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics, without the demands of hospital rounds or obstetric deliveries. Your practice will be based in Suite 220 of the Kettering Health Greene Memorial Physician Office Building, located adjacent to the hospital where you will have immediate access to emergency services, imaging, laboratory, cardiovascular services, and specialty consultations.

Greene County represents a compelling blend of suburban growth and rural charm. The communities you will serve, including Xenia, Beavercreek, Jamestown, Yellow Springs, Cedarville, and Waynesville, have experienced significant population growth as families and professionals migrate eastward from Dayton's established suburbs. This growth has created genuine demand for primary care physicians who can provide continuity, preventive care, and chronic disease management. You will step into an established patient panel with immediate productivity, replacing a physician who transferred to another Kettering Health location, ensuring you will have a full schedule from your first week.

Practice Structure and Schedule

Your daily practice will center on meaningful patient encounters rather than volume-driven metrics. With a patient volume of 16 to 20 visits per day, you will have adequate time for thorough evaluations, patient education, and documentation without feeling rushed between appointments. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm, and you will have the flexibility to structure a four-day work week, giving you a consistent day off each week for personal commitments, family time, or pursuing outside interests.

  • Outpatient only with no hospital call, no OB deliveries, and no nursing home coverage
  • Four-day work week available, providing genuine work-life balance
  • Patient volume of 16 to 20 patients per day allows for thorough, unhurried visits
  • Replacement position with established patient panel for immediate productivity
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine required
  • Must be comfortable with Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model
  • U.S. residency training required; J-1 visa sponsorship not available

A Growing Health System Investment

Kettering Health has recently announced a $35 million investment in Xenia, signaling a long-term commitment to this community. This investment includes $10 million for modernization and renovation of Greene Memorial Hospital and $26 million for a new 24,000-square-foot outpatient health center on Progress Drive. Once the new facility is complete and this position is filled, the plan is to consolidate primary care providers from multiple locations into a new Multisource Building adjacent to the hospital, creating a centralized primary care hub with enhanced resources and colleague support.

This position offers you the opportunity to join a health system at an inflection point, where strategic investments are being made and physician voices matter in shaping the future of care delivery. You will work alongside Jason Schofield, PA-C, in Suite 220, with additional colleagues at the primary care office across town that includes four Family Medicine and Internal Medicine physicians plus one advanced practice provider. The collaborative environment extends beyond your immediate team, as Kettering Health's 1,800+ physicians across 14 medical centers and 120+ outpatient facilities provide ready access to specialty consultations and referral pathways.

This Family Medicine opportunity combines the autonomy of outpatient practice with the security of employment within a faith-based, non-profit health system that has served southwestern Ohio for over 60 years. You will practice in a growing community with genuine need, supported by a health system making significant capital investments in your market, while enjoying a schedule that protects your personal life and professional fulfillment.
