Navigating the Clinical Component

Patient Population Demographics:
The patient population consists primarily of adults and elderly patients, with a significant portion presenting with chronic cardiovascular conditions.

Types of Services/Procedures Performed:
• Diagnostic cardiology services (e.g., echocardiograms, stress tests)
• Management of heart failure and other chronic cardiac conditions
• Collaboration with interventional cardiologists for comprehensive care

Call Schedule/Coverage Expectations:
The cardiologist will participate in an on-call rotation, typically involving one in four nights.

Electronic Medical Records System:
The hospital uses a state-of-the-art EMR system to ensure efficient patient record management and coordination of care.

Opportunities for Specialization/Focused Practice:
Opportunities are available to focus on areas such as heart failure, cardiac imaging, and preventive cardiology.

Clinical Support Services Available:
The hospital provides extensive clinical support services, including nursing, pharmacy, and advanced imaging technologies.

Use of Midlevel Providers (PAs, NPs):
The cardiologist will work alongside physician assistants and nurse practitioners to provide comprehensive care.

  • Emily Cole, MPAS, PA-C: 
    Cole is a certified physician assistant who is providing patient-centered care alongside AdventHealth’s board-certified cardiologists.

    Cole earned a dual bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and Spanish from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in Greensboro, NC. She then went on to earn her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC.

    Cole keeps her patients at the center of the evidence-based care she provides. She focuses on encouraging a healthful lifestyle for patients. She helps her patients achieve their health and lifestyle goals and works to be an advocate for patients on their health care journey.

  • On Boarding second PA in September ( Courtney )
    If the provider is on call, he can only see patients in the afternoon because he's handling all the hospital situation during the morning, he's doing all the stress testing. He's rounding up stairs. That is creating quite a backlog for us to only be able to see patients have a day Dr Burton's the only one that is here every single day. So you've got Levine, he's here somewhere between five and seven days a month, that includes a weekend. So we may only have him three days a month in the office. 
 
Integrated Behavioral Health Services:
