Meet Our Team

Collaborative Team of Dedicated Professionals

When you join Franciscan Health Urgent Care, you'll become part of a tightly-knit team of passionate healthcare professionals who genuinely enjoy working together. The practice culture emphasizes collaboration, mutual support, and respect, creating an environment where providers freely consult with one another on challenging cases and share knowledge across experience levels. Unlike the isolation often experienced in primary care settings or the constantly shifting teams in emergency departments, you'll develop meaningful professional relationships with colleagues who share your commitment to delivering outstanding urgent care.

The practice is currently staffed with a mix of physicians and advanced practice providers who bring diverse backgrounds and expertise to the team. The medical director, Dr. Christie, splits his time between clinical duties and administrative responsibilities, remaining accessible to providers for consultation while handling the broader operational aspects of the practice. His leadership approach emphasizes provider autonomy while ensuring appropriate oversight and support.

  • Current physician staffing includes 4 MDs (equivalent to 2.5 FTEs) with plans to expand to 4.5 FTEs, creating significant growth opportunity while maintaining a supportive physician presence
  • Advanced practice provider team of 7.2 FTEs (6–7 APPs) working collaboratively with physicians in a model that emphasizes appropriate supervision while respecting professional autonomy
  • Ideal MD-to-APP ratio of 1:2 or 1:3 ensuring physicians can provide appropriate oversight without being overwhelmed by supervisory responsibilities
  • Stable, experienced support staff with ratios of 5:2 at Thompson Commons, 4:2 at Greenwood, and 4:1 at Stone's Crossing, providing consistent clinical assistance
  • Dedicated front office personnel, medical assistants, and management support with additional nursing staff at Thompson Commons to handle higher acuity cases
  • Longstanding team members including some who have been with the practice for many years, demonstrating the positive work environment and professional satisfaction
  • Providers with diverse backgrounds including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine, bringing varied perspectives to patient care
  • Practice culture that values work-life balance with providers who understand the importance of thorough sign-out and respecting boundaries during off-time

The administrative team includes a dedicated operations director and clinic managers who handle the non-clinical aspects of practice management, allowing you to focus on patient care. The support staff is cross-trained to handle the various service lines, efficiently preparing patients and ensuring all necessary information is ready when you enter the exam room. This seamless workflow contributes to both patient satisfaction and provider efficiency, allowing you to practice at the top of your license.

As a new provider, you'll find the team exceptionally welcoming and supportive during your onboarding period, with more experienced providers eager to share their knowledge and help you become comfortable with the practice's unique aspects. This collaborative spirit extends beyond the orientation period, with ongoing consultation and knowledge-sharing that enhances everyone's clinical expertise.
