Your practice at Ochsner Children's offers a high degree of autonomy, allowing you to shape your daily routine while working in a highly collaborative and friendly environment. You will operate on a standard 5-day workweek with no evening or weekend call, providing an excellent work-life balance. The clinic is conveniently located at the hospital's Medical Office Building (MOB), ensuring seamless patient care and easy access to hospital resources.
- Diverse Patient Population: You will be treating a wide range of conditions, including idiopathic arthritis, lupus, autoimmune disorders, dermatomyositis, and scleroderma. The practice serves a significant number of unique patients across the system, with a 40% increase in recent growth.
- Comprehensive Responsibilities: Your daily responsibilities will include evaluating and diagnosing rheumatic diseases, developing and implementing treatment plans, and monitoring disease progression. You will also be responsible for educating patients on their conditions and collaborating with other specialists, such as orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists.
- Procedural Opportunities: The position involves a variety of procedures, including aspirations, joint injections, biopsies, DXA scans, and Nailfold videocapillaroscopy.
- Strong Support Systems: You will have the opportunity for APP support if you desire it. While a Nephrology specialist is being actively recruited, you will benefit from plenty of pulmonary and cardiology support, along with good immunology resources.
- Academics & Research: You can engage in clinical and teaching activities with opportunities in residency and various subspecialty fellowships. While there is no pressure to publish, you have the option to start clinical trials if you are interested.
