They have a lot of co-morbidities including mental health and substance abuse. The provider needs to focus on the most critical need the patient has at that time. The Executive Medical Director will play a large role in supporting the providers on how to develop a care plan for their patients.
The Executive Medical Director will report to the CEO, Patricia DeShields. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. The providers see 20-24 patients per day. The Executive Medical Director will not have their own patient panel but will help with overflow and may be required to take calls in rotation to cover for providers on leave. The call is with an answering service, to screen calls and will call you on the company cell phone and that is part of your salary. Now it is taken a month at a time with an equal share of holidays. All providers have encrypted laptops and phones. They take it home with them.
The competition for Project HOPE is almost nonexistent as we are one of three FQHC’s in New Jersey focusing on serving the needs of the indigent and unhoused population. Project HOPE served their patients with over 15,000 patient visits in 2020 and hopes to continue to add to that number with stellar leadership and vision from the Executive Medical Director.
