Collaborative Team Culture Rooted in Purpose and Mutual Respect
At Rincon, you’ll join a tightly-knit team that values trust, emotional intelligence, and a shared commitment to changing lives through expert TBI care. While the clinic is growing rapidly, the culture remains that of a work family—supportive, transparent, and unified around the mission of high-quality, patient-first rehabilitation.
You’ll be the second full-time physician in the practice, joining founder and CEO Topher Stephenson, MD, who currently sees patients one day per week while leading the organization’s strategic initiatives and med-legal work. The clinical team is built around strong physician-PA collaboration, with a culture of openness, ongoing dialogue, and daily teamwork. Your clinical partners are highly motivated recent UC Davis PA graduates who are eager for mentorship and clinical guidance.
The broader team includes certified athletic trainers, testing specialists, and a trusted group of 25–30 independent contractors who deliver onsite or referred specialty care. Every team member—from the front desk to the executive office—was hand-selected for their integrity, flexibility, and commitment to patient outcomes.
Your future colleagues and clinical culture include:
- Physician Team:
- Dr. Topher Stephenson (Founder/CEO): Board-certified PM&R with subspecialty in brain injury medicine
- New hire: Will take over Dr. Stephenson’s clinical panel and serve as the clinic’s full-time attending physician
- Advanced Practice Providers:
- Two full-time PAs (both 2024 UC Davis graduates) with high potential and strong clinical curiosity
- You will supervise both and sign off on all clinical documentation
- Support Staff:
- Three Certified Athletic Trainers (CATs) who manage neurodiagnostic testing and clinic logistics
- Clinical administrator and Director of Operations to handle infrastructure and workflow optimization
- Independent contractors in psychiatry, neurology, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and audiology
- Culture of Mentorship:
- PAs are eager for continued education, case discussions, and regular feedback
- Monthly clinical meetings provide structure for protocol updates, new device rollouts, and shared learning
- Interdisciplinary communication is valued—team members frequently collaborate across disciplines and specialties
- Low Turnover, High Loyalty:
- Many staff members came from large health systems seeking purpose and connection
- Leadership invests in long-term retention through transparency, appreciation, and shared vision
This is a team that truly works as one, where your voice will be heard, your ideas will be respected, and your impact will be felt.
